maybe i am a nerd (yes, i am pretty sure that i am), but i am fascinated by the universe. creation. consciousness. and i love thinking about things that are bigger than my perception (which is most things). the universe (or universes as per one of my last posts)  is one of those things. i remember reading a long time ago that physicists were searching for this subatomic particle called the higgs boson, or the “god” particle, which could explain why particles have mass. the implications of this are enormous. it would literally explain the formation of the universe and everything in it. including life. i need a minute, i feel like my brain is having a series of tiny explosions…

ok, i’m back. anyways, this is some pretty incredible stuff. i am amazed that it isn’t on the front page of every newspaper. physicists the world over and partying like they have never partied before (which is good, because they work really hard). it is such a fascinating time to be alive. and it really puts things into perspective. doesn’t it? why particles have mass. i mean holy shit.

here is the article about it from the new york times
